The lovely 5-star Chalet Alex is ideally located close to the resorts of La Clusaz and Grand Bornand, which are both less than a 10-minute drive away.
At the end of a private road but just 1.7km from the village of St Jean de Sixt, Chalet Alex offers a quiet place to relax just minutes from restaurants, bars and shops. It's perfect for families, with a newly-landscaped flat garden which borders the forest, a large terrace with a hot tub, a petanque court for summer evenings, and three seating areas, where you can gather to watch TV, play computer games or just catch up over a glass of wine or two.
Designed for those who want to make the most of the fabulous outdoor life in the Alps, there is plenty of space to store skis, bikes and outdoor clothes ready for your next mountain adventure (shoe and glove dryer available).
About the property...
You and seven of your friends and family will find plenty of space to enjoy the mountain life at this newly-renovated 5-star chalet.
From the parking area, you'll go straight into a handy area where you can take off and store your outdoor clothes. There's also a door from here to the garage, where you can safely store your skis, snowboards or bikes. There's a seating area down here with a flat screen 3D television and a PlayStation 4, perfect for kids of all ages. Table tennis and table football are available too and stored in the garage. There's also the laundry room and a toilet on this floor.
Upstairs, the main living area centres on an unusual woodburner, which heats up the stones it is made from and radiates heat throughout the chalet - perfect to come home to after a day on the slopes. There's plenty of room for everyone on the cosy sofas to curl up and watch a film on the ultra high-res flat screen television.
Beyond this is the dining area and open plan kitchen, which was handmade by a local craftsman. It's a really sociable area, perfect for sharing a Savoyarde fondue or perhaps a raclette. Doors lead out on to the balcony and terrace, which has stunning views on La Tournette in one direction and to Pointe Percée in another.
The master bedroom suite is on this floor too - a large double with plenty of storage and a shower room with twin sinks. There are three more double bedrooms on the top floor, all of which are en suite and have dressing rooms. The two bedrooms at the front of the chalet also have balconies - a great place to have breakfast while enjoying the views.
There's a third seating area on this floor too - a mezzanine overlooking the main living area downstairs, so whatever you choose to do in the evening, you can always find your own space.
About the area...
There's plenty of great skiing to choose from, what ever your level, in La Clusaz just under 5km away and Le Grand Bornand which is 3.5km away.
The ski bus stops in St Jean de Sixt and links both resorts with the Manigod area, giving you 220km of pistes of varying levels to explore, as well as extensive off-piste action. Nordic skiers will discover plenty of trails from St Jean de Sixt and there's even a sledging run opposite the chalet.
Non-skiers are well catered for, and being mid way between La Clusaz and Le Grand Bornand, guests have plenty of activities to choose from in each resort. In La Clusaz, there are heated indoor and outdoor pools open all year round, or try snowshoeing, sledging, dog-sledding and sleigh rides and the exciting ski-joering - skiing while being towed by a horse!
Both towns also have ice rinks and cinemas. After all that excitement why not enjoy some pampering at one of the spas in La Clusaz - you've earned it!
In the summer, there's so much to see and do in the Aravis when the snow melts, leaving Chalet Alex surrounded by quiet lush green pastures.
St Jean de Sixt is one of the only places in the world where you can try Bun-J ride, a cross between ski jumping and bungy jumping! It's open through the summer and winter seasons.
The village is also home to an outdoor paintball experience in the forest near Le Danay. Other more traditional pastimes are available too - marked footpaths crisscross the mountains, many starting right from your front door, or you can explore by mountain bike - take the lift to the top of the mountain then come back down at your own pace. You can wash your bike down back at the chalet afterwards and store it inside the locked garage.
There are a number of mountain farms within a walk of the chalet, where you can see the local Reblochon cheese being made - you'll come away with a delicious treat for the walk back. If you're looking for something a little more challenging, there's a climbing school, via ferrata routes, tree-top adventure parks, canyoning, white-water rafting, horse-riding, karting and paragliding all nearby.
The medieval town of Annecy is 30 minutes away by car - it's a must for a day out, whatever the season. It offers glamorous shops, restaurants, galleries and museums, and Lake Annecy, said to be the cleanest lake in Europe, is a great place for waters sports, swimming, cycling or just relaxing on a grassy beach. For a relaxing day, why not enjoy the peace and quiet of the terrace and garden at Chalet Alex!

Often overlooked in favour of its larger neighbours, La Clusaz and Le Grand Bornand, Saint-Jean-de Sixt is a delightful, family-friendly village at the heart of the Aravis ski area.
Just 3km from both La Clusaz in one direction and Le Grand Bornand in the other, and well connected by ski buses, you’ll have easy access to some great skiing.

Chalet Alex, in St Jean de Sixt, sleeps eight people in four bedrooms, all with their own bathrooms and dressing areas.
As you would expect from a five-star chalet, everything you need for a great holiday is here. There's a stylish handmade kitchen with a huge fridge freezer, and there's plenty of space to ensure that everyone has their privacy.
Although open plan, the kitchen, dining area and living area are well defined, and at the end of an active days, the cosy sofas are the perfect place to relax - the amazing fireplace keeps the room warm for hours, as the fire heats up the surrounding stones.
The separate TV area is great for teenagers, or if you are a multi-family group, it means you don't always have to share each other's company.
The chalet is on the outskirts of the village, but on a sunny day, the walk to the shops and restaurants in the centre is beautiful!

When you enter Chalet Alex, you forget everything - you are on holiday.
There's a sense of calm, a magnificent view, and a beautiful garden.
The village is a walk away, and you're very close to Le Grand Bornand and La Clusaz, and the comfort is just what you would expect from a five-star property.
